This message is from Dave Olney, Superintendent of the Hesperia Unified School District. Yesterday, after my message to you, State Superintendent Tony Thurmond stated that schools should prepare for distance learning for the remainder of the school year. At noon today, Governor Newsom supported that statement, stating that schools should be physically closed. Late this afternoon, our County Superintendent and County Director of Public Health issued a press release recommending that all districts in the county continue with distance learning for the remainder of the year and keep our schools physically closed to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
That said, Hesperia Unified School District, along with the rest of the San Bernardino County school districts, will remain physically closed and provide distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Chromebook distribution for our elementary students will begin tomorrow and distance learning will officially kick-off on Monday, April 6. Student meals will continue to be provided at our three “grab and go” sites, Hesperia High, Sultana, and Cedar Middle for the rest of the school year.
I want to assure you that our school board and I will do everything we can to recognize the accomplishments of our graduating seniors. Please continue to monitor updates on our webpage and social media.

Además, quiero asegurarles que nuestra mesa directiva y yo haremos todo lo necesario para poder dar reconocimiento a los logros de nuestros alumnos a graduarse del último año de preparatoria.
